StepStone Family & Youth Services Youth Care Worker Teresa Lacy has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Dunbar, WV.
Teresa works at a six-bed facility for youth ages 12-16 with co-existing mental health and intellectual disabilities. She has been a dedicated employee of StepStone since February 2023 and has made a positive impact on the lives of the youths and the team with whom she works.
Teresa consistently goes above and beyond to meet the needs of the youth in her care and is always willing to help her team in any way she can. In the past year, Teresa was certified as an Approved Medication Assistive Personnel and is now responsible for making sure medication passes are accurate, timely, and properly maintained.
Executive Director Andrea Blankinship says, “Teresa’s attention to detail, strong communication skills, reliability, and adherence to policy have shown her to be an outstanding professional and team member. Her coworkers also describe her as caring, kind, and supportive.” One example of her kind nature regards the boys in her home who love her cooking. During the holidays, Teresa makes sure that they all have special home-cooked meals.
