BrightSpring Health Services congratulates Morgan Parker and Miriam Martin, two amazing women who were recently named in the Vancouver Business Journal’s “Accomplished & Under 40” Class of 2018! Morgan and Miriam have been instrumental in the successful launch of “Next”, Clark County’s new youth education and employment center.
The Accomplished & Under 40 program celebrates young achievers who are the rising stars in Southwest Washington. Honorees are inspiring individuals who sit on nonprofit boards and are active in the community as coaches, mentors, volunteers and neighborhood organizations. Professionally, those recognized in previous years have come from the ranks of small business owners, physicians, educators, marketers and public service.
Morgan Parker serves as director for Next, a one-stop center that helps young adults get set for success by providing the support and training they need to create the future they want. Next provides a safe space where young adults can connect and socialize, get something to eat or access health services and get the education and career help they need. Under Parker’s leadership, the center has been a catalyst for getting local youth partners and staff to collaborate and work together as a team to help disadvantaged youth throughout Southwest Washington.
Miriam Martin is the Director of Programs for Workforce Southwest Washington (WSW), the local workforce development board. Miriam unveiled the initial concepts for Next, streamlining services from several agencies that guide youth with significant social and educational challenges into careers. WSW invests in several initiatives and has partnered with ResCare Workforce Service on programs throughout the region. Miriam is committed to strengths-based approaches and collaboration which have made a significant impact on the local workforce system and the Vancouver community.
“We are so incredibly proud of Miriam and Morgan,” said Mark Douglas, president of ResCare Workforce Services. “Both women are extremely passionate about serving the youth in our communities.”
