Chief Learning Officer Malissia Pendleton was a keynote speaker for the Kentucky Association for Talent Development (ATD) event held last month at the BrightSpring Support Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The session focused on challenging leaders to improve their leadership skills in the workplace.
Malissia spoke to the group about three key components of leadership: providing foundations, learning how to collaborate and the importance of inspiring your team and organization every day. Using BrightSpring’s successful launch of its LEGACY employee culture in recent years as a primary example, Malissia stressed the criticality of how driving strong partnerships with leaders across the organization helps learning and development functions achieve positive business outcomes and create a learning culture.
“These partnerships require us to challenge leaders to be better and do better to truly transform the organization,” Malissia said.
Following the session, leaders left engaged and ready to take on the challenge by influencing their own organizations, being great partners to internal/external stakeholders, and collaborating to drive business results the right way – aligning their mission and vision.
