All StepStone locations in Kentucky have been re-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. The accreditation focuses on an organization’s ongoing commitment to quality improvement and demonstrating conformance to CARF standards in service areas and business practices.
Kentucky StepStone CARF Accreditation Report Highlights:
1. StepStone is commended for the care it has taken to create beautiful and functional workspaces. The organization is also complimented on maintaining a nurturing environment that is inclusive and guided by trauma-informed care.2. StepStone is recognized for the quality of its financial policies and procedures, its apparent financial solvency, and the clean results of external audits year over year. The organization exemplifies excellency within the industry in which it operates.
3. Staff members in each of the organization’s offices are dedicated and energetic advocates for the clients. Although StepStone’s offices stretch across the state, staff members stay in constant contact with one another to ensure that they all function in the same way.
4. StepStone is commended for its dedication to provide ongoing education to staff members on the most current evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment. Clients have access to a variety to treatments that assist them to process their trauma and learn to manage their emotions in a manner that is far above that available in most therapeutic milieus.
5. The structure and operation of the foster care program of StepStone is strong and based on best practices. The program’s solid therapeutic stance in trauma-informed care is evidenced in the organization’s policy and procedures as well as in the client records.
