ResCare Community Living Program Manager Beth Littleton has been Working Smart and Doing Good in Johnson Creek, WI.
Beth is one winner of this year’s LEGACY of Care Caregiver of the Year award. She attends leadership calls, is attentive and engaged in all discussions, and provides ideas to help other teams who may be struggling in various areas.
Recently, Beth started working with an 18-year-old client with cerebral palsy who came into the care home weighing only 32 pounds. She spent many days building a relationship with this individual and getting to know their potential. Within weeks, the client went from drinking liquids from a teaspoon to drinking independently from a cup and eating finger foods.
Beth’s relationship with another client and his family resulted in great strides in his ability to communicate. When Beth started working with this individual, he would only say a few words, slept often, and was a very picky eater. When she dropped the client off at his father’s house every Friday, Beth would talk with his father to learn more about him. By forming this connection with the family, she was able to better understand the client’s life, which helped him to blossom.
Congratulations, Beth! Thank you for your dedication to a people-focused Environment. The personalized support you provide each individual promotes progress towards their goals and helps them to live their best lives.
WORK SMART. DO GOOD.
